About Empire of Storms

Empire of Storms (Throne of Glass, #5)

At this point in the story, you already know who Celaena or better, Aelin is, and you go into this part knowing that something potentially brutal is going to happen. It has to; otherwise, what would be the point of continuing?
Maybe some people might say, “Oh, come on, the protagonist has everything figured out,” but my question is: this is book #5 in the series (or even #6 if you read The Assassin’s Blade, and if you haven’t, stop right now and go read it, because the feeling of reading this book with that knowledge is priceless).
I really enjoyed the journey of this book. The love not just between Aelin and Rowan, but also with her friends, the battle in the middle of the ocean, and the end… THE END!!! I think one of the best parts at this stage is that we finally start to understand the why behind everything, the truth behind it all.
If I had to mention something I liked a bit less, it would be Aedion. I felt like he was pushed aside, always feeling bad or disappointed in himself or in the people around him. I kept waiting for him to step up, to do more, but it never really came. It felt like, because he didn’t get what he wanted, he just pulled himself away.
So yes, I’m another fan of this adventure. I know it’s not perfect, but it gave me everything I expected: an amazing woman who doesn’t have all the answers. And to be fair, her people felt abandoned by her, they weren’t just waiting for her to come back and save everything. It was good to see how she walks through all of that and grows from it
